"Villa Valeriana", located on the old path “Via Valeriana”, opposite the island of Monte Isola, is an independent house surrounded by a large private garden, with breathtaking views of Lake Iseo. The house is 5 minutes from the boat departure for the island, 15 minutes from the village of Iseo, 30 minutes from the city of Brescia which this year shares the role of Capital of Italian Culture 2023 with the city of Bergamo. The villa is located on a terraced hill facing Monte Isola, the largest lake island in Europe. From the terrace and the garden of the house the view completely embraces Lake Iseo, as far as Mount Guglielmo. The famous Bulgarian artist Vladimirov YAVACHEV CHRISTO, known for his "bundling" of buildings and monuments around the world, built in June 2016 a floating bridge in the mirror of the lake between Sulzano and Monte Isola which could be seen and enjoyed from the portico of our house. "THE FLOATING PIERS" was the title of the work. By the end of April 2023, the 76 km Brescia Bergamo cultural cycle path will be completed. In total, 27 municipalities to cross for a total of around 800 properties of historical and cultural interest, 3 regional parks (Colli di Bergamo, Serio and Oglio nord), 3 parks of supra-municipal interest and the Torbiere del nature reserve Sebino. The cycle path will be “a common thread that allows you to experience an immersion in the cultural landscape between the two cities”. You will cross Unesco sites (the Venetian walls of the fortified city of Bergamo, and the complex of San Salvatore and Santa Giulia and the archaeological zone of the Capitol. A large fireplace is located in the living room area, equipped with flat screen and Hi-Fi system. On the same floor there is a double bedroom overlooking on the terrace, a bedroom with two beds and a bathroom with shower. Going down the stairs, you access a sleeping area made up of two bedrooms (double and twins) and a second bathroom with shower. Available to guests For smaller children we offer a baby bed (0 - 4 years) and a high chair. A laundry room equipped with washing machine is accessible via the garden. The large covered terrace is equipped with a table for dining outside and a relaxation area with deck chairs. The villa is completely surrounded by a large private wooded garden and has two private parking spaces. From the village of Sulzano, located on the shores of Lake Iseo, you can easily get around for lovely walks in the surrounding area. By walking from our house, you can stroll along Valeriana Street and reach the sanctuary of Santa Maria del Giogo. From the village of Marone, organized bicycle and mountain bike tours allow you to travel along panoramic routes along the lake. Going up towards the northern shores of the lake, it is possible to reach Mount Guglielmo, from where you will enjoy an incredible view of the lake, of the surrounding valleys, up to the Dolomites and the Appennines. Still towards the north of the lake, following the road towards the village of Zone, the spectacle of the “Piramidi di Terra” of the Natural Park opens to the eyes of visitors. Continuing on the same road we arrive at the Camonica Valley, a land rich in history and famous for its rock incisions (Naquane Rock Incisions Natural Park). These two sites are part of UNESCO heritage. From the small port of Sulzano several boat trips take you to the other villages on the lake. Monte Isola, the largest lake island in Europe, is car-free and therefore an ideal destination for excursions and bike rides. The island's artisans are known for the production of PDO olive oil, Cure sausage and preparations of lake fish and sardines. Every five years, for 150 years and particularly this year from September 14 to 20, the Feast of the Holy Cross enlivens the island. On this occasion, the streets, houses and churches of the village are decorated with 200,000 handmade paper flowers. It's an unforgettable spectacle. From the house it is possible to reach the “Torbiere del Sebino” Nature Reserve in 15 minutes by car, declared a “wetland of international importance” according to the Ramsar Convention, and a “Site of Community Interest” (SIC) of “Rete Natura 2000”. This area is considered a priority for biodiversity in the Padana Plain. Still in 15 minutes by car you can reach Franciacorta, a hilly area famous throughout the world for its wine.
